“To Pee or Not to Pee”
The Texas GOP is trying to make you feel unsafe in the Lone Star state. They want you to be on the look-out in public restrooms for a phantom. They want you to believe in an unreal, unrealized and unproven threat coming from a very specific group of people; the trans-gender citizens of Texas.
If Texas has their way then the gentleman in this photo will have to go to the same bathroom as our mothers, wives, girlfriends, you know ………..females.
He was born a female so by using the ladies room he would be following the law.
The gentleman pictured is Buck Angel, an American adult film producer, and motivational speaker. This article is not about him. I will say that according to several sources, that can be googled, he is a nice man.
The reason for using this photo is because Greg Abbott and his team of Republicans are basically saying that it would be against the law for Mr. Angel to use the gents-room. No, he has to relieve himself in a stall, where your young daughter may see him and be startled. Mr. Angel is not going to harm your daughter or anyone but your little girl will not know that, because we can’t read minds. She will be afraid. She may cry or pee herself.
I would send the dry cleaning bill to the State Capitol, if I were you.
She will not know that his intention was to relieve some tension……against his gallbladder.
Mr. Buck is not the problem. He and other trans people are not a problem at all.
The GOPee, however, wants the public to fear this person and those that are like him because they are different. That’s it. If you are frightened then they can openly discriminate and alienate these people and by doing so, they will bring suspicions and distrust to people of the trans community.
What is a trans·gen·der person?
Google the word and this is the definition turns up: denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.
My definition of a transgender person is this: a Human Being. Plain and simple, but I am apt to add a broader description so that the differences are clear :
A transgender person is a person with a soul and a citizen that works and pays taxes. Our transgender brothers and sisters are family that love and play and worship all the while contributing to the economic success of our state. They are vital and necessary in my Texas.
They also vote.
I do not pretend to know what kind of turmoil might weigh on the mind and soul of a trans-man or trans-woman as they face their inner battles.
How can we understand the hard choices they have made in life?
It’s something that many people cannot fathom and may never comprehend.
Do they deserve to be treated like this? No one does.
I do know that I will treat them with the same respect I would give any stranger on the street.
I will treat them the way my God, who has never made me feel I should hate someone for being different, would have me treat them. I will treat them the way I expect to be treated.
This is not the first time that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has tried to instill paranoia and panic into the minds of gullible Texans.
Remember Jade Helm 15?
Jade Helm 15 was a two-month military training exercise ( the largest such exercise on domestic soil) sprawling across seven states in the American Southwest, including Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Crazy conservative conspiracy theorist claimed that the exercises were to prepare for the US governments’ implementation of martial law. They had nothing solid to go on. Not one thing, but that didn’t stop them from trying to frighten us.
Info Wars Fake news website owner Alex Jones was one of the first to popularize the theory that Jade Helm was actually an attempt by the U.S. military to prepare for the imposition of martial law.
Mr. Jones is from Dallas, and well, we just couldn’t be more tickled pink about it.
Our very own governor ordered the Texas State Guard, a militia he oversees, to monitor the exercise.
He said he did so to address the concerns of Texans, but was mocked by some critics for giving voice to conspiracy theories.
“Abbott should counter, not cater to, Texans’ crazy Jade Helm fears,” Dallas Morning News April 30, 2015
Nothing happened. He tried to scare us. He is doing it again with this bill.
The Texas Bathroom Bill is just another Jade Helm 15.
The real potty predators
So, are you afraid to potty in public because the GOP has made you afraid of transgender people?
Did they succeed in making you feel threatened and afraid every-time Mother Nature calls? Will you buy stock in Adult Diapers? Does it depend?
I will say this, if a predator wants to get to your child, they will find a way.
If these pedophiles that we are supposed to fear and keep an eye out for are in the guise of a trans person, then drafting a bill to keep them out of your local public bathroom will deter them because a criminal will almost always obey the law. Right?
A criminal is not likely to abide by laws. A molester will find a way in.
It is not the T in LGBTQ that we have to watch out for:
It’s the POS’s in the GOP you should keep away from your vulnerable young children. They are the true toilet terror.
